100 Years of Core Collections (Standard Catalogs)

The Wilson Core Collections assist librarians in collection development, collection evaluation, and maintenance. The bibliographic records in these databases have been greatly enhanced with useful information: book jacket images; best lists and starred reviews; reading level recommendations; and book reviews (including many reviews in full text). The 16th Edition of the Fiction Core Collection has been released in print. Joseph Miller, H.W. Wilson Vice President of Cataloging Services will provide highlights of the new edition.

Sears List of Subject Headings on WilsonWeb

The Sears List of Subject Headings, a standard thesaurus for small and medium-sized libraries of all types since 1923, is now available on WilsonWeb. A simple, intuitive, user-friendly interface makes this file available in a whole new way. Joseph Miller, H.W. Wilson Vice President of Cataloging Services, will demonstrate the special features of Sears on WilsonWeb and show how subject cataloging with Sears headings is now easier than ever.

WilsonWeb for First Search Users

OCLC and H.W. Wilson have announced the transition of Wilson databases from First Search to the WilsonWeb platform. In this 15 minute session Gray Young, Director of New Content Management will discuss the advantages of accessing Wilson databases on WilsonWeb: ReadSpeaker text-to-speech, language translations, Content Discovery Keys and more.
